A gift to covet and inspire
If you’re looking for a last minute gift for a female friend or relative, take a look at Covet Girl London. It’s a fabulous guide to female-run businesses, featuring some of the truly inspiring women who shape the culture and community of our vibrant capital.
I’ve wanted to work with female entrepreneurs for some time so I was delighted when Carlie Parkinson, Covet Girl’s founder, invited me to be one the project’s six photographers.
As the main photographer, shooting over a third of the images in the handbook, I was privileged to create portraits of some amazing women. I met fashion designers, natural healers, physiotherapists, food experts and florists to name but a few. Covet Girl London is a tribute to their creativity, hard work and determination.
Says Carlie, “When I first came across Annie’s website I could tell she had a way with people”
“People are often nervous in front of the camera, but everyone in Annie’s photographs looked very comfortable and their personalities shone through.
“After working with Annie, I know this to be true. The images she took for Covet Girl London are fabulous. They capture the essence of the businesses and their owners – most of whom did not like the idea of being photographed!
“Using her creativity, Annie was able to handle challenging photo-shoots and came up with innovative ways to showcase the businesses”.
Visit Covet Girl to buy your copy. As well as being time-saving guide to a fabulous variety of businesses, Covet Girl London may also inspire someone to start up that venture they’ve been talking about!
Here are three of the entrepreneurs that I worked with and their spreads in the book.
