Family at home photography session in Barnes, SW13

My Portraits in the Park session have become very popular and I love them but I do a fair amount of at home sessions.  This post is about a family at home photography session in Barnes, SW13.

I met Alicia (the mum) at a local Christmas fair in Kew and she really loved the idea of having a family photography session at her home.  As part of the Family @ Home service for clients who are local I like to do a pre shoot visit so that I am not a stranger to the children on the day of the photography session and that we do have some sort of plan of what we are going to do.

It was decided that the photography shoot was to take place at Alicia’s home in Barnes, SW13 and we would use the garden, kitchen/conservatory and the sitting room for the main part of the shoot.  We did have plans for me to photograph Charlie playing his cello but he had left it at school but I did have an opportunity to photograph Katherine playing the piano with Alicia looking on.  This is a reflection in the hall mirror.

We we blessed with a beautiful sunny day but because I had checked where the sun was moving round at the pre shoot visit I was able to do all the shots in the garden first before the garden became too sunny.  Looking at all these images they are in black and white but these are the favourite images that the family chose at the viewing and ordering session with my viewing consultant.

The doorstep shot

One of the my most favourite shots is to photograph the whole family standing (or sitting on the doorstep) as this is always a lovely point in time to look back to. Particularly if one moves. We had to move the wisteria to one side as it had been taking over!

Products

The family bought a Rossini album which has a leather back and spine and has a picture acrylic front just like the one seen on my Products page Product page – annie armitage. They also bought Corelli and fine art unframed mounted prints.
